Our Ministry Groups
Youth Ministry
Our ministry’s main purpose is to lead children and youth into a relationship with Jesus. We minister to the spiritual needs of children between the ages of 3 and 18 years old directly from the Word of God. We provide an environment in which children and youth are safe, are taught at an age-appropriate level, and are encouraged to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ. Flower & Plant Ministry
Genesis 2:8: Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.
Genesis 2:15 – The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.
“The Garden” is a ministry that focuses on selecting, placing, pruning and maintaining plants, shrubberies and planters/pots and decorative features inside and outside the church building.
Volunteers in the Flower and Plant ministry focus on selecting, placing, pruning and maintaining plants, shrubberies and other interior and exterior decorative elements.
Greeter’s Ministry
Our Greeter’s Ministry plays an integral part of our church. They reflect the love of God through their gift of hospitality as they greet and extend a warm, genuine welcome to everyone who attends an in-person worship service or special event. The Hospitality Ministry is in essence “God’s love on display.” They assist with seating our guests, attending to our guests, distributing material, and much more.
Health Ministry
Our Health Ministry provides health education, prevention, awareness, support and resources which promote health and wellbeing. The ministry promotes the health and healing of our church members and the community and is a biblically sound ministry providing the tools people need to become physically, spiritually and emotionally healthier. They are present during worship services to provide immediate, on the spot medical assistance as/when needed. Members of this ministry.
Media Ministry
The media ministry team is responsible for all of the technical functions of a congregation. The Media Ministry works behind the scenes to make it possible to share the message of a church with large groups of people through amplified sound, recordings, PowerPoint presentations, Web pages and other forms of communication. This ministry works diligently to capture significant and historical events that occur at the church, producing clear and intelligible sound and visuals through audio sound and recordings, video recording and photography.
Men of the Forge
Our Men’s Ministry provides a great opportunity for the men of Sweet Home to enhance their relationships, both, with the Lord and with each other. Our Men’s Ministry is committed to empowering and fortifying men to be spiritual leaders in their family and the community. Through our service and fellowship with each other, we strive to help every male develop a love for studying and applying God’s word in his life.
Music and Performing Arts Ministry
The Music and Performing Arts Ministry creates an engaging environment to praise and encounter Jesus. It provides an uplifting and inspirational opportunity for the people of God to come together to worship and praise God corporately through song, dance and acting. We value many genres of music including hymns rich in theology, anthems, traditional, contemporary, and praise and worship.
Prayer and Care Ministry
Our Prayer and Care Ministry provides intercessory prayer. Its purpose is to glorify God by stimulating believers to engage in prayer for one another! The Prayer and Ministry receives prayer requests and immediately sets into action a team that is committed to praying for these requests. This ministry conducts residential visits to walk alongside those in need of comfort and solace during life’s most difficult experiences.
Women’s Impact Group
Our Women’s Ministry is for ALL women; and, is designed to encourage and support women, ages 18 and beyond, in their journey to develop and maintain a personal relationship with God. We develop Christ-centered relationships with each other through women’s small groups, prayer and fellowships.
