Dr. Dante D. Wright I, a native of Dallas, Texas, is a husband, a father, a friend, and an avid sports fan. He has served as the Senior Shepherd at Sweet Home –The Pinnacle of Praise, since 2005. Pastor Wright is not only committed to preaching to the members of SHBC – The Pinnacle of Praise; he is also committed to teaching and discipling its members to be Apologetics of the faith. Pastor Wright was active in ministry at an early age; and after following his heart and after much success as a collegiate football player and coach his call into the gospel ministry proved to be even more powerful. In a giant leap of faith, he resigned from Arkansas State University in 2004, after ten years of collegiate coaching, to become the full-time Senior Pastor at True Light Baptist Church, Blytheville, Arkansas.
Embracing the call on his life, his pastoral role in ministry, his desire for theology academia, and his continued pursuit of advanced academic degrees, he enrolled in Criswell College, Dallas, Texas, where he earned a Master of Arts Degree in Christian Leadership in 2000, a Master of Divinity Degree from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, Lynchburg, Virginia, in 2008, and a Doctor of Ministry Degree with an academic concentration in homiletics from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, in 2014. He also earned a Th.M. from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary December 2016. He is currently writing his dissertation for an earned Ph.D. in Biblical Studies with Emphasis in Homiletics at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
In March of 2005, he accepted the call as the Senior Pastor of the Sweet Home Baptist Church of Round Rock, a century year old church with approximately 60 active members. Outside of his pastoral responsibilities; you will likely find him reading, tracking political and current events in the news, and/or watching sports.
